A filmed puppet opera performance broadcast by RAI, with orchestra, choir, soloist and puppeteers.

A tragedy libretto composed by Luca Ferracane with music by Giacomo Cuticchio.

The young puppeteer and composer Giacomo Cuticchio dedicates a new original show with music and puppets to the mythological figure of Medusa. Medusa, before being the monster that we all know, was a beautiful girl who, raped by the God Poseidon, was cursed by Athena. Victim of violence, Medusa witnesses all that humanity in search of justice, consideration, love.

About Giacomo Cuticchio
Giacomo Cuticchio was born in Palermo, in 1982. He is a composer, a pianist and has his roots in one of the strongest and liveliest Sicilian theatrical traditions. Son and grandson of puppet masters. There is no doubt that Giacomo Cuticchio’s extraordinary intuition for sound has been influenced by the practice of cunto. Giacomo’s father Mimmo, pupil of the master-puppet and cuntista Peppino Celano, is one of its last true heirs. As in the cunto where the word becomes sung by the rhythmic distortion of the breath, setting free its musical soul, Giacomo’s music creates the same natural sounds and brings them alive.
